Dua Lipa was born on 22nd august 1995, in London, the United Kingdom. After a stint as a fashion model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album titled "Dua Lipa" in the year 2017. It peaked at number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and released eight singles which included Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. number-one song New Rules which peaked at number six on the charts in the United States. Lipa's album, which has now been certified platinum in a variety of nations around the globe, won her two Brit Awards (in the year 2018) in the categories of British female single artist as well as British Breakthrough act. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian descent via her mother's grandmother. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa's father, the guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan band Oda was a major influence on her music. Her father played music at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was just five years old. She started singing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School when she was just nine years older. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm Gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa was signed to Warner Bros. Records a contract in 2014. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
